Daphne's Birthday

So yesterday was Daphne's birthday. I am so stoked that she is 3. She's getting so big and John and I just love it. We love all the interesting stuff she comes up with. We never know what's going to come out of her mouth next. She was really excited for her birthday (still hard to believe that she can comprehend what a birthday is and that she was going to have one). She requested a birthday party with chocolate cake and ice cream, balloons, party hats, and goody bags. Which is just what she got.

After her nap time at school, we did a little birthday party with all her classmates. It was sooo funny to realize that I was at the adult end of little kid birthday parties now. Now I am the one trying to maintain control with 6 three year olds, making sure they don't touch the cake, waiting their turn, not touching the candles, calming down... it was a LOT of fun. Really!

Here's the cake. Daphne loved it, and she loved it was pink. It's not exactly what I had in mind... I actually ordered a really cool cake with butterflies from a local bakery. When I went to pick it up on my lunch yesterday, the guy (owner/son of owner) told me that their grandma had died and that they didn't get around to making the order. So, I had to go to a grocery store and pick up some random cake and have the lady behind the counter write on it. I don't think they did that good of a job... but the purpose of the birthday cake was fulfilled. Lots of little kids ate it and it was yummy. What else could I ask for?

After the birthday party at school, we went to the Oregon Zoo in Portland. That was our birthday present to Daphne. We bought a family pass that allows us to go for a whole year UNLIMITED! I'm sure Daphne will thoroughly enjoy it!

In front of the fish aquarium. Daphne was a little hesitant to stand in front of the glass, cause it kind of looked like the fish were gonna get her! It was really cool though.

After the zoo we went to dinner at Red Robin! If you sign up for their birthday club, you get a free burger on your birthday!

Daphne says she had lots of fun on her birthday. I'm glad that she had a fun time. I love my little Daphne! Happy Birthday Daphne!
