Hey all
so... what's been going on lately? well, on friday night john, daphne and i ate dinner at the taylors house. it was a ton of fun. the taylors are always great hosts despite the fact that john never fails to adventually harrass them about not eating fast food and making their guests take off their shoes in their home. christie made this yummy dish with pasta, artichoke hearts and roasted red peppers. the hilarious things about this night was when i noticed my mouth feeling itchy and puffy half way through dinner. i noticed the sensation, and excused myself to the bathroom to see if my face puffiness was becoming noticable. I could tell a difference when i checked myself out in the mirror. thinking it was best to tell everyone now, instead of waiting until i thought i might have to go the emergency room, i interrupted the dinner conversation with the news. I told everyone that i thought i was having an allergic reaction and stay tuned in case my throat closes up or something. both christie and mark noticed my face was getting puffy, but for some reason john didn't. anyway, the allergic reaction never got worse than that and started to go down after about an hour. it was an adventure though. honestly, nothing can just go normally in my life.
on saturday i was able to have a girls night out with all my friends. it was sooo much fun. first we went and saw 27 dresses earlier in the day. the movie was so great, it made me laugh which I greatly needed that day. after dinner we ventured out to find a place that could seat 13 women in a reasonable amount of time. it took a while but we were able to eat at applebee's. it was so much fun just sitting and chatting. here's a picture, i'm circled with yellow in the back.

and today we went out to the church and played some volley ball with some friends. good times. I was a little rusty, but warmed up and turned out to be not too bad of a player. we should do that again sometime.
so, i no longer watch emi anymore. it's bittersweet. i'm so glad i do not have to watch that weirdo child anymore or deal with her anal parents. what I will miss though is the money. for anyone wondering why i do not watch emi anymore, it's just because her mom is anal and no one is good enough to watch that child. she will switch around day care so much until she discovers there is no one left. anyway, since I am no longer doing that job, i am trying to spread the word on my cleaning business. check out my website and please forward it to anyone interested in my services. http://likeajewelcleaningservices.blogspot.com/
that being said, it has caused some feelings to stir up inside. i am so sick of dealing with uptight people. i know that people have different values and expectations, but there is no need to look down on me or judge me for living my life how i see fit. i don't care how other people live their life. if they want to do something that isn't something i would do- fine. i do not care!
also, michigan is a lot better than the city in california that i'm from. if we were going to law school in california, john and i would not be able to qualify for a fraction of the stuff we get for free here. we were very excited to learn that rent is incredibly cheaper, the summers are cooler, it snows here, and for some reason- all of us who are here for school band together and form these awesome friendships. i have never had so many friends who were members, and it's great. BUT- michigan is a crap hole compared to Oregon. Portland specifically. I cannot wait to move there. I don't know if that will be because John will be done with law school and we won't have to live on such a tight budget, or if i just truely don't like it here. but, if john were done with law school right now, i guarantee that we would NOT be staying here.
there ARE things that are just not desirable about michigan. the humidity in the summer is almost unbearable, the roads are awful, in the caucuses Michigan jumped to mid-January triggering shifts by Iowa and New Hampshire. The Democratic National Committee stripped Michigan of all its delegates to the national convention because it moved ahead of Feb. 5 without permission (something that really pissed me off), random people ask me for money because they "ran out of gas" a lot more often here, some things about the church here are a little weird and too off kilter for me (church from 1-4? whoever thought THAT was a good idea?), utility bills in winter are ridiculous, there is no carls jr, del taco, or jack in the box, people FROM michigan are WEIRD... anway the list could go on and on. these are things i do not like about michigan. and although we chose to move here, it is temporary and we are looking forward to not being here much longer. we will miss our friends, but that's probably it.
anyway, that is all for now. love ya

I didn't know you weren't watching her anymore. Good luck with the cleaning business. I hope you get it going well. I like your page for it. it looks very inviting. If I had $ to do it (and you weren't on the other side of the country) I'd hire you :)
AMEN!!!!
Couldn't agree more sista...
LOL about John not noticing your allergic reaction (or your concussion) - good thing Mark and Christie were there!
haha! ya, what is up with that?
It was such fun to have you over! And I am sooo glad that you allergy wasn't more serious. I would have felt terrible sending you to the hospital because of my cooking....
not all people from michigan are weird! :P okay i take it back, nick and i are pretty weird
;)
Well, it'll be nice for it to be just you and Daphne during the day now!
