Acorn squash folks. In season, this item found in the produce section of the grocery store, is only ONE DOLLAR! AND all you have to do is cut it in half and bake it. I like to either drizzle some maple syrup, or sprinkle some brown sugar on top. Add a little sea salt, and it's got that amazing salty/sweet taste. Kinda like a chocolate covered pretzel.
Last night I put mine under the broiler, so it would be done sooner. Still tasty, just a little crisp on top. Which is great if you like that sorta thing. Which I do.
Anyway, this squash is amazing, and should be everybody's staple for fall side dishes.
