Maybe I should post something....

So, I only get on the internet a couple times a week now. Who knew that working took up so much time. I really miss my stay-at-home-mom days... kinda, but not really. Anyway, I am able to get on and check my email, check our bank account, and MAYBE check some blogs. But I do not really have time to post anything. Especially during the week. But, just now I was sitting here, and after checking everything I normally check I said outloud to John (who is setting up his gear for his gig tonight) and Daphne (who is "helping" him)- "Maybe I should post something". So here I am.

Usually we spend our weekends running errands or going in a trip together... just spending time together. I treasure the time where we don't have to work or clean. We just get to hang out. Well, we already went to a few places today, and John is preparing for his gig (as previously mentioned), so everyone is busy- which gives me a couple minutes to kill some time.

I'll start off with work. Work is really awesome. I figured that I am gone for 10 hours a day. Eight hours spent working, one hour for lunch, and a half hour commute each way. I get home at the same time as John, we eat dinner, hang out with Daphne, put her to bed, then hang out. While I'm at work, I really enjoy my time there. I'm really busy and needed. It feels nice to do a good job, be recognized for it, and realize that my job needs me. I'm not the Junior Preschool teacher anymore. Licensing came through our center last week and had to change some things. First of all, we had three kids in the preschool room who weren't three years old yet. And legally, they can't be in there if we want to be a licensed center. So they had to move them down to "Junior" Preschool. Daphne was one of them. And since I was the Junior Preschool Teacher, it was a conflict of interest. So, they had to move me to another classroom. NOW- I'm the Wobbler Room Head Teacher.

For those of you who are asking "What is a Wobbler?", a Wobbler is the age between Infant and Toddler. The definition of a toddler is a child who is one year old and walking. They decided to open a transition room, for the babies who are learning to crawl and "cruise", but not yet walking. That is the wobbler room. I teach the babies to walk, to self feed, and to get onto a toddler schedule (which basically means only taking one nap a day). I really really like my room now. I like working with babies the best. So I am extremely happy with that.

I currently have four baby boys who are between 10 and 12 months. They are really cute. And starting April 1st, I am getting an 11 month old girl. Fun fun.

Daphne loves going to school. She has a hard time when I have to leave her, but she understands. She knows I work with the babies and when I leave she says "Mommy you go take care of the babies?" My room is actually RIGHT across the hall from her room, and I can just look through my window and see her any time I want. On my lunch break I go help her eat lunch and put her down for a nap. She has started napping since being in this classroom which is nice. She has learned so much since starting and just loves it. When I go to pick her up she doesn't want to leave. And when she's not at school, she asks to go back. Daphne turns three next month... I am so excited but can hardly believe I will be the mother of a three year old.


Last weekend we drove down to Mt. Shasta and met up with John's dad. John's dad had a couple of his amps in Bakersfield, so he met us half way between Bakersfield and Portland. We were able to hang out and have dinner. It was a lot of fun.

John got me a gift certificate for a Spa Retreat, which included a mani-pedi, one hour massage, and a one hour facial. So I did that yesterday. It was awesome! It takes about four hours, so I only worked a half day yesterday and spent my whole afternoon getting pampered. I had never done anything like that before, so I wasn't sure what to expect exactly. I spent the whole time in a huge fluffly robe sipping tea and munching on cookies listening to relaxing meditation music. Needless to say, I am a huge fan of spas now. I think that was the best present I have ever gotten so far.

John has a gig tonight at Root's Brewery in Portland. All our friends and John's co-workers are gonna come watch him play so it should be fun.
