daffodils

long ago, my dad coined daphne with a nickname- daffodil. i think it's the cutest nickname ever. i wouldn't be mentioning this except for an interesting thing that happened recently.

spring is here which means flowers are blooming. the other day i noticed small green flower like plants popping up in front of our house right at the base of the tree that's there. they have quickly sprung up and yesterday a yellow and white flower blossomed. it's a daffodil. and today, four others have bloomed too. they are beautiful and i have no idea where they came from. they weren't here last summer, and we didn't plant them. how interestingly ironic.

today was also the first day so far that we've been able to go out without any kind of jacket or sweater. daphne and i went out to the park this morning and it was fabulous. poor daphne skinned her knee though- twice! the same knee. later tonight after dinner, we all went out to barnes and noble just for fun, and before we got in the car daphne started running down the side walk and fell and skinned that same knee again! 3 times in one day. i feel so bad for my poor little baby. it's not too bad though, and she was a trooper about it.
