shopping

today, daphne is FINALLY back to sleeping from 8am to 8pm. i just put her down and i keep hearing these loud girly squeels coming from her room. it's actually hilarious. hopefully she'll fall asleep soon.

so today was interesting. i am very proud to say i was up and to the gym a little before 7. each day i'll try to get a little earlier. the earlier the better.

daphne and i did our usual monday grocery shopping. she walks along side the cart almost the whole time now. she'll either help me push it from behind or from the side. but she constantly gets distracted by all the strategically merchandised kid friendly cartoon plastered treats at her exact level. the store knows exactly what they are doing when they put the fun shaped chef boyarde, sponge bob cheeze its, and brightly colored bags of candy two shelves off the floor. today i couldn't convince daphne to put the care bear fruit snacks back, so i got them for her. i've seen other kids eat those, but i haven't gotten any before today because i was afraid she'd choke on them. but apparently she can eat grapes and raisins, so i don't see why she can't eat the fruit snacks. i gave them to her today at the table after she woke up from her nap and she didn't even really care for them! oh well.

also at the store this 70 something year old couple just went crazy for daphne. they oogled over her and daphne shyed (is that the way you spell it?) away. as they were leaving i told them thank you and asked daphne to wave bye bye. she was to shy to do that though. finally as the couple was too far to even hear her, daphne started waving at them and saying "THANK YOU!" and she kept saying it louder and louder in hopes they would hear her. she was just standing there waving and yelling "thank you! thank you!" to them and they didn't even hear her. it was hilarious.

so john is at class for the second time tonight. daphne and i went to target because i had some prescriptions to pick up. also to just kinda hang out and kill some time. i picked up a couple other household items, and made it to the pharmacy. i was third in line and i noticed the first lady gave some coupon to the second lady because she couldn't use it. the second lady couldn't use it either so as she left she gave it to me. it was coupon to get a 10 dollar gift card for filling a new prescription there with qualifying insurance. and that's exactly what i was doing so i got the 10 dollar gift card! talk about good timing! after that we went to the target food court area and got the BEST COOKIES i've ever had probably. they're called rocky road cookies. me and daphne just loved them. mmmmmmm they were like a little taste of heaven.

so my day has been pretty good. except for the internet and cable went out while daphne was asleep so i couldn't work on any of my homework. i'll just have to do it tomorrow.
