why are post office and licensing department people so rude?

i have a few thoughts on my mind

i think yesterday i decided that i just can't commit to posting pictures as often as i'd like to. i just have too much going on, that i'm going to leave sunday's for days that i will take the time to upload pictures off our camera and post them on the blog. so, for all you who are extremely interested, pictures will be posted on sundays in a blog. and if the pictures were relevant to another previous blog from the week, i'll post them in their appropriate blogs.

i haven't been able to go to the gym since we've been back from portland. my membership expired and i did apply again, but they have to make sure they have "enough funds" before they can approve me again- which doesn't really make sense to me. but, it's been a while and i'm really sad that i haven't been so long. i am not as happy and i have to watch what i'm eating more closely which isn't fun either. going to the gym is like my thing- it keeps me sane. hopefully i can go back soon.

i had quite a bit of buisness to take care of downtown today. so we all walked downtown and first went to get our car registered in michigan (after being here 9 months) but we don't have to pay registration again til we move to oregon which is cool. i also got my michigan drivers license as mine from california expired in june. so technichally we've been driving quite illegally- especially me. oh well. but what stinks is we had to pay 106 bucks for all this crap. oh, and of course i knew i was getting a picture taken for my drivers license so i wanted to make sure i looked pretty for a picture that would be captured and carried around with me for the next year or two. i thought i looked pretty good- but then they took my pictures and you're allowed to see it on a monitor. it looked crappy! i took it three times. it still didn't look good but oh well. Oh! and the dumb lady cut a huge corner off my california drivers license when she gave it back to me. why did she have to do that? maybe i wanted to keep that for a momento- it's still invalid because it's expired anyway, without the huge corner cut off. what a retard. it's still MY license. shouldn't they ASK before they destroy your property?

anyway...then i went to the post office and then i went to the library. daphne had a lot of fun there because they have a lot of childrens stuff like dvd's and books. so we checked out 4 dvd's for her- one of them being teletubbies. i put all the stuff we checked out under the stroller and when we got home i told her to get the teletubbies movie out and she started pulling all the stuff out from under the stroller looking for teletubbies. it was funny. she's already watched it twice today.

we went to the Hogge's tonight to just hang out. it was sooo much fun. our friends are awesome. i had a blast hanging out with people we already know and then it was really great getting to hang out with some new people as well. we'll have to do that more often, just so long as erika can tolerate all of us crazy people in her house. i really think that hanging out with some friends who share the same morals and stuff is so great and it really keeps me sane too.

the weather is still very cool- literally- which is awesome. i hope it doesn't get hot again, i just want it to stay this way. we still haven't been running our a/c but i did have to turn on the heater last night for a few minutes.

on another side note- our landlords are pretty retarded and we're pretty sure we're gonna sue them when we move out- which hopefully wont be for a while because the house itself is pretty awesome. the guy who moved us in told us that the company takes care of mowing the lawn. which we thought was a good deal because we don't have a lawn mower. well, they haven't been by to mow it since we've moved in so i called them today. and the lady there said that the owner actually just came by our house the other day and asked this lady to have us get it mowed. i told her what we were told by that guy and she said she'd talk it over with the owner. i also mentioned to her that there is still an issue with the carpeting. when we moved in it had a very foul uriny smell upstairs as well as on the stairs. for those who helped us move in, they should know what i'm talking about- i know alyson does cuz she said something about it. the edges of the carpet had dog hair and dirt in them and just the other day i was bending down to look for something in the carpet in our bedroom upstairs and i could see that there was still dog hair matted into our carpet. obviously they didn't have the upstairs carpet professionally cleaned. if they did, none of these problems would have occured. i don't think the carpet was cleaned at all, i'd be suprised if it was even vaccumed befor we moved in. i have done lots of things myself to try to get the smell to go away but nothing has worked. so anyway, i told this to the lady over the phone and asked her if she could do anything about it. she said she would ask the owner about it when she talked to him about the grass. she called me back just a few minutes later and said "i don't know where jim (the guy who moved us in who actually no longer works for the company) got the idea saying that we'd take care of your mowing. we'll do it this one time, but when spring comes and the grass starts growing again it'll be your guys responsibility. And paul (the owner) said that he has done everything he can to fix the carpet. if you're still not happy with it you can get a professional cleaner to clean the carpets and we'll split the cost with you." this is bologna. i just said ok though, i'm gonna make sure i document all this stuff- document all the stuff that we have done to this house to improve the shape it was in- and we're totally sueing them when we move out. especially since they have it in their rental agreement that they will automatically retain $150 of our security deposit for carpet cleaning when our carpet was not cleaned before we moved in. AND because of the whole threatening to evict us thing. So... but everything is fine. it's just super annoying.

well that's all for now.

So if my landlord didn't clean our carpets either before we moved in and they take money out of our deposit for carpet cleaning, can I say no way jose' too? It is in our contract, so I figured it would have been cleaned, but nope. Do you ever sit and imagine living in your own home with no worries about silly landlords? Hmmm its nice. :)
