after only 11 days of living in a two story house daphne has learned how to get down the stairs all by herself. she has become very particular about things lately, and she is getting to be more and more like a little person than just some baby. a little bit ago, we were upstairs and she led me downstairs, and to her sippy cup which was already full of milk that she had from a bit earlier. she handed me the cup and started to fuss, so i took it from her and asked her if she wanted juice, and she started to get all antsy. so i got her a new cup with juice in it and she was very happy. i guess she didn't want milk. she also has grown extremely fond of this Barney video we got her a while ago. suddenly this weekend, all she's wanted to do is watch this video. the first time she took me to the tv and opened the doors, so i asked her if she wanted Barney and she got all excited. but since then we've had to hold back and try to get her to do other things. a couple minutes ago she found a great deal of satisfaction in pulling all the q-tips out of their box and putting them on the floor for at least 15 minutes. she has been trying to talk to us in her language a lot lately, and she does it in the expression of a question. its really quite cute.
i've been very sick this weekend, but have been able to do everything i absolutely need to do. i cleaned the BSA office on saturday, and barely made it through it. i then finished preparing my lesson that night and made it to church and gave the lesson in young womens with an extremely stuffy nose and scratchy voice. im sure i sounded fantastic. im also pretty sure that i'm running a fever because i have not been able to cool down all day.
daphne fell asleep on the way home from church today, but woke up about 45 minutes later. she wouldn't go back down for a nap so we tried to keep her awake as long as possible in hopes that she would retire for the night early. our oven has not been working ever since we moved in, and my friend alyson has been so nice to let me come over and bake in her oven a couple times. i did that today to make my spaghetti bake casserole for when the missionaries came over for dinner. by the time i got back at 5 with the baked casserole, i had discovered that daphne had been put down for a nap. we let her sleep to see if she would just not wake up until tomorrow. well that didn't pan out and she woke up at 8pm. she is still awake now at 11pm, and were just gonna wait it out until she gets tired. hopefully it'll be soon. but we did have the missionaries over for dinner and that was quite fun.
well this week is very busy like always. john has almost all his finals this week. he's already taken one, and has one every day from monday through wednesday this week. and then has his last one next sunday. we are going to totally take this break for granted and hopefully do lots of fun thigns. this saturday we are going to have someone watch daphne for the day and head out to detroit for a temple trip and then a rock concert *the rentals*. we are very excited! hopefully my cold will be gone by then. well that's whats been happening.
