we moved into our rental house on the night of july 31st. we have been having a lot of issues with the management company though and i feel like i've told almost everyone about it a lot and i don't know if i have the energy to type it out.
basically, they are "slum lords"- which is apparrently a term used for landlords who don't care about their property or their tenants. the house was dirty when we moved in, and now they are being jerks and are trying to evict us after we lived here for three days. we're not worried about it though because we have researched it and have discovered many ways of how they have broken the law. we think they are doing this because they are insulted by the way i filled out my entry inspection report, saying that this house was a dump and they should have had the whole thing professionally cleaned and painted. oh well... we are going to talk to them in person tomorrow and if that doesn't pan out then to MSU for some free legal aid. lets just say that i can't wait for john to be a lawyer.
daphne is becoming such a big girl. she is doing so many things i don't even know where to begin. she has become super needed of me which is really frustrating for both john and i. she loves the new stairs in our house and loves to climb up them but hasn't figured out how to get down. she has this obsession with rocks, she loves to hold them and i can see her restrain herself from putting them in her mouth. she absolutely loves dogs still and goes crazy when she sees anyone else's dog. the other day we were at the park and a lady was their with her shi tzu. the dog was only 12 weeks old and was really excited to see a little girl to play with. the dog would jump all over daphne until she was on the floor and then lick and jump all over daphne's face. lets just say daphne wasn't as excited about this as the shi tzu was. i thought it was rather hilarious though.
i have found myself less tempted to be on the computer to waste time now that it is upstairs in its own room. which is good because i have been getting a lot of cleaning done at the house. john is studying away for finals. i miss him now with him being so busy. i can't wait for our break when we can go to portland and just hang out for a few days. i'm still doing my online classes, but haven't really done anything this past week! i really need to catch up.
oh, and the day after we moved in our computer just pooped out on us. we didn't have any idea what happened. we had to call dell and pay 39 bucks to fix it. it's all better now, but we had to completed restore our hard drive to brand new, that means everything on there was erased. thankfully though, john backed everything up on discs like two weeks before because we had a virus and thought we were going to have to restore our hard drive then too, but we didn't end up having to do it then. so that kinda sucks.
anyway, i'll keep updating about our landlords and hopefully it'll just blow over- they have a lot of problems in their office and i'm hoping it has something to do with that.
